It’s an east coast thing now so a lot of the country would have had it pass them by.
Should be 60,000 to 70,000 at the MCG for Richmond and probably close to 90,000 for Collingwood on Friday night.
How were the NRL crowds?

That little shuffle has become more common I've noticed. I was always taught to stand with my foot beside the ball and pass straight from there.
In the days of the rush defence, that little shuffle is the difference between getting the ball out past the fly half and having him forced to turn back inside.
Of course, it's also often complicated by the opposition players slowly wandering their way back onside.
Aaron Smith for example has a bullet pass, so he can sometimes get away with it, but most halfbacks just slow down their backs with it.
I think the ABs brains trust will have seen plenty to like about the way the Scots dismantled England on the weekend. They'll also have enjoyed seeing the way Ireland were seen off with relative ease a couple of times.
Hard to go past Edwards for sure. The bloke has made a massive difference everywhere he's gone.
England on the other hand, have got a coach who has failed nearly everywhere he's been, including as coach of the ABs where his selection policy directly cost us any chance of winning the 2003 RWC....I mean, who the fucking hell would leave Christian Cullen out of a 30-man squad? And selecting Leon McDonald at centre vs Australia in the semi was a master-stroke....for Australia.

We do lack flair at 9 and 10. Youngs still does that shuffle step before he passes - Most top scrum halfs (and Dupont is very good at this) set when they pick up the ball and fire out the pass seamlessly.
Farrell is obviously easy to read as Finn Russell worked out exactly what he was going to do. He is a good fly half but not as good as George Ford who has a step and vision.
Our main problem on Saturday was the defence. Once the blitz fails there is jusr acres of space for people to run into. Beauden Barret worked this out in the Autumn international and so did Russell.
We need a new plan for World Cup or at least a flexible one.
Talking of coaches Shaun Edwards must be the best defence coach on the planet. It does help when you Liam WIlliams at 15.

No, I'm just highlighting the irony of quite a few people complaining about the way Wales play, when England dominated the world for a couple of years playing in an even more conservative manner.
Perhaps the game hasn't moved on quite as far as you think, when Wales are able to win yet another grand slam, under the leadership of Gatland (who also has a Lions series win in SA, and a draw in NZ on his resume remember, and with a very different tactical approach), and using a very sensible, pragmatic gameplan that plays to their strengths.
You know, like England did.

I get it that Gatland and Schmidt are your fellow countrymen but you can't even talk about Wilkinson without bringing Wales up and how they compare to the England team of 2003. you must have been abused as a kid by a morris dancer, there can be no other reason for your strange hatred towards anything English

you're talking sixteen years ago and the game's moved on, though I'm not sure many teams are able to play expansive rugby and still stay disciplined which is why Gatland sticks to his gameplan. I like a few of the Welsh team, especially North, Williams & Davies. for you to mention the World Cup win again shows the bitterness always lurking beneath the surface, you just can't help yourself can you even when just talking about a player. hahahahaha

I didn't dislike Wilkinson. He was very good at what he did. What he did was fairly limited though, because the gameplan didn't involve much more than kicking and smashing the shit out of the opposition forward pack at every opportunity.
Which is why I find it so funny that people are complaining about Gatland's sides being boring.
England were successful with an even narrower gameplan than Wales.
